## Project Overview

Tribe Art Gallery in Siem Reap is a contemporary art space showcasing both Cambodian
and international artists. This was their first website, and the goal was bigger
than simply creating an online shop, it was about giving artists in Cambodia a global
platform to share and sell their work.

If you want to sell original art works and/or print-on-demand prints in one simple
store, we can set this up for your gallery or studio. As you may have noticed, we
do specialize in [hotel website design](https://oliveandlake.com/for-hotels/digital-marketing/website-design/)
but often use our skills to branch out into other industries.

The new site needed to support **three types of products**:

 * **Original artworks** – shipped directly from Cambodia.
 * **Prints on Demand** – fulfilled through CreativeHub and shipped internationally.
 * **Locally printed artworks –** printed and shipped from Cambodia

The challenge was to make these different sales paths feel effortless for the buyer
while keeping everything easy for the gallery team to manage behind the scenes.
The tricky part was to:

 * Ensure that CreativeHub only printed the correct products.
 * Create different shipping rates depending on where prints are shipped from.
 * Ensure that original artwork also had correct shipping rates and weren’t accidently
   sent to CreativeHub for printing.

## Design Approach

We designed the site to feel like walking through a modern gallery. It needs to
be calm, clean, and focused entirely on art. The layout uses soft colors and generous
spacing to let each piece stand out. Large images, artist profiles, and minimal
text create an immersive experience without distraction.

The navigation is simple, and visitors can browse by artist, country, artwork type
and more with clear distinctions between originals and prints. Of course, it needs
to be fully responsive on mobile devices so that the layout adapts naturally, maintaining
that same sense of clarity and focus.

## Challenges & Solutions

The biggest challenge was integrating **different sales and fulfillment methods**
within a single WooCommerce store.

 * **For prints fulfilled internationally**, we connected the website to CreativeHub,
which automatically handles printing, packaging, and delivery to customers abroad.
 * **For originals**, the site had to bypass CreativeHub entirely and process them
as direct sales handled by Tribe’s team in Cambodia.
 * **For prints printed in Cambodia**, we had to ensure the correct pricing, shipping
details, and product labeling were applied, while ensuring CreativeHub wasn’t
   fulfilling these orders.

Behind the scenes, these differences are invisible to the customer, each product
page clearly shows whether an item is original or a print, where it’s shipped from,
and whether or not free shipping is included. The result is a smooth, consistent
experience for buyers, no matter what they’re purchasing.

We achieved this with a combination of custom code to modify WooCommerce’s shipping
logic, custom fields to manage product data, and conditional display rules to ensure
buyers always see accurate details for each artwork.
