Project Overview

The Peninsula Phnom Penh is a four star hotel offering contemporary rooms, refined dining, and thoughtful wellness facilities in the heart of the city. The brief was to build a WordPress website that showcases the property with clarity and connects seamlessly to Cloudbeds for direct booking optimisation.

Design Approach

We created a calm, image led layout with a clear path to Rooms, Facilities, and an easy-to-find Book Now button. Photography leads each page, supported by short paragraphs and clear headings so guests can scan and decide quickly.

Of course, the website is fully responsive with fast-loading images, and tidy typography for easy reading on small screens. Room cards are consistent across the site, displaying photos, size, key amenities, and a booking button so there is always a clear next step.

Challenges & Solutions

Speed was critical. We engineered a fast loading site that feels instant for first time visitors and returning guests.

  • Server level caching with browser caching rules for repeat visits
  • Deferred noncritical JavaScript and minified CSS
  • Responsive WebP images, lazy load, and aspect ratio placeholders
  • Font display swap
  • Lean plugin stack and clean templates to cut DOM weight

We also needed clear direct booking incentives. The site highlights best rate, flexible terms, and value-added perks close to every booking action. This messaging is consistent throughout the website.

Packages and offers are handled with a dedicated custom post type. Each offer has start and end dates, inclusions, promo copy, and a mapped Cloudbeds link or code. Tracking tags pass through to attribute revenue and refine campaigns.
