Project Overview
Atelier by Richard is a Bali-based producer of artisanal charcuterie and fine foods. The brief was to create a fast WooCommerce shop that reflects a farm-to-table ethos, highlights local and organic sourcing, and allows for delivery across Indonesia.
If you want to sell food online with clear delivery rules, seamless payments, and strong SEO, Olive & Lake can plan, design, and build the perfect e-commerce website for your business. Contact us to discuss your project.
The shop needed to organise a broad catalogue and set clear expectations for buyers in Bali and beyond. We focused on speed, clarity, product categories and an easy-to-use delivery system.
We created:
- Product families for butchery, savoury items, and condiments.
- Fast paths to purchase, with prices and weights up front.
- Accurate address capture for Indonesian addresses.
- Transparent delivery options for Bali and other provinces.
- Local online payments trusted by Indonesian customers.
Design Approach
We designed a clean, product-first experience. Cards lead with photography, price, and weight so shoppers can browse easily and find what they’re looking for quickly.
Navigation centres on product categories with a strong on-site search. Filters help users narrow by type or preference, while quick-view reduces page loads. The layout is responsive, readable, and optimised for mobile checkout.
Subtle brand colours and generous spacing support the farm-to-table story without getting in the way of conversions.

Challenges & Solutions
- Product Syncing – It was important to organise products correctly so sync to Meta Commerce Manager.
- Shipping – In Bali, delivery feeds depend on distance and weight and for other locations in Indonesia, shipping is based on weight. We had to create shipping classes to route items to the right method and combined them with both table rate shipping and distance-based shipping rules.
- Delivery Addresses – Addresses are complicated in Indonesia, so we connected the checkout to Google Maps API for address autocomplete, improving both accuracy and speeding up form entry.
- Midtrans – There are multiple payment methods which are unique to Indonesia. We used Midtrans so customers can pay using their favourite app.
- Conditional Displays – Behind the scenes, custom WooCommerce logic, conditional displays, and clear labels make the differences invisible to buyers while staying easy for the team to manage.

Key Features
- WooCommerce product sync with Meta Commerce Manager.
- Quick-view gallery with ingredients and allergens.
- Address autocomplete for Indonesia via Google Maps API.
- Schema markup for products.
- Smart upselling for related products.
- SEO optimised category and product templates.
- Complex shipping setup: distance-based in Bali, weight and non-distance-based elsewhere.
- Midtrans integration for local online payments
Results
Product discovery is faster, with fewer abandonments at checkout. Customers receive clear delivery and preparation expectations before they pay.
Search visibility improved for category and product pages thanks to structured data and focused content. The team can now manage rates, products, and promotions with confidence.
